Franzen Family Portrait, oil on plastered canvas (22"x28") *

Still Life, charcoal and white chalk on paper
Fragment No. 2, oil on plastered, layered board
I was inspired to do this painting by the scripture Isaiah 52:7. I wanted to have an almost halo-like effect around the feet, and chaotic splatters around symbolizing the earth. I entered this piece into the Snow Horse High School Art Contest and received 1st place.
Forsythia, oil on plastered board
I've always believed that happiness is a choice, and I wanted represent the concept of happiness as forsythias. The girl holding on to the flowers shows how happiness can be cultivated anywhere.

This Invention Could Change the World, watercolor and pen
I did this for the Doodle for Google contest, and I wanted to illustrate a machine that could solve depression, a problem that I have seen to be almost more detrimental than any other problem in society.
Untitled, pastel on paper
I was fortunate enough to take a figure drawing class down at BYU during the summer of 2014, and was able to see the process of mapping out the body, and shading it accordingly

The Bedoin's Prayer, oil on board
I was inspired to do this painting by my trip to Israel in December of 2013. My reference was based off of a picture I took while my tour group had stopped in the Judean wilderness. We were able to meet a group of nomads who were nearby us, in which I was able to shoot one of the nomads. Because their nomadic lifestyle was so unique to me, I could only imagine the faith it took them to travel with so much uncertainty of what they would find in their next destination, so I added the Arabic script on the bottom which says: "Lord, bless our travels".
Written Memories, oil on plastered board
This is painting I did of my mother, who has always been example to me. Here I have her writing her thoughts down, and studying the scriptures.
